Registration Fee Once a place is offered, a non-refundable, new student deposit/registration fee of AED 4,000 must be paid 5 days from receiving the acceptance letter. The payment of this fee secures a place for your child at JBS and is credited against Term 1 fees. Transfer Certificate Charges For students transferring within Dubai schools, there is a KHDA administration fee of AED 120 for each student. This fee is collected on behalf of the KHDA by the receiving school. When a student is transferring from one Taaleem school to another Taaleem school in Dubai, this fee may be waived. Examination Fees In line with other private and international schools, there may be an additional fee for external examinations. If this is the case, we will inform you in advance. Payment Terms For the academic year, Term 1 fees are due before the child may attend school. Term 2 fees should be paid by the 3rd of December, and Term 3 by the 11th of March. Once a place is offered, a non-refundable, new student deposit fee must be paid to reserve the place until full tuition payment is made. This fee is deductible against Term 1 tuition fees. Payment Options Payments can be made by cash, credit card, bank transfer or cheque. In case payment is made by a personal cheque, then the school requires payment at least 3 working days prior to the due date of the invoice. All cheques must be made payable to “Jumeira Baccalaureate School”. A charge of AED 500 will be made for any returned or dishonoured cheque. Post-dated cheques are to be lodged for Term 2 at any time in advance of the due date. Please contact the Finance Office on +971 (0)4 344 6931, ext. 207 for the account details needed to make bank transfers. All charges are the responsibility of the remitter. When a bank transfer is made, please ensure that all relevant information is added to the transfer form including student name and grade, and confirm transfer by contacting the Finance Office [email protected]. We accept MasterCard and Visa only. Tuition Refund Policy Notice of student withdrawal and application for a tuition refund must be made in writing to the Principal. Ministry of Education regulations govern the school tuition refund policies as per below. Student withdrawal prior to the start of the academic year: If the student has not attended any classes, the balance of the first semester fee is refunded (minus any registration fee made for placing the student on the school’s official class list). This refund is subject to approval by the Principal and is in compliance with the Ministry of Education rules. Student withdrawal during the school term: Fees will be charged for 1 full month if a student attends school for 2 weeks or less. Fees will be charged for 2 full months if a student attends school for more than 2 weeks and less than 1 month. Fees will be charged for the 3 full months if a student attends school for more than 1 month. Terms and Conditions DOCUMENTATION All documentation must be submitted prior to the student joining the school. Please note that we will only accept completed applications, with all the required paperwork included. Incoming students, whose documents are incomplete, cannot be registered with Dubai’s Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA), which could result in fines. JBS is not be responsible for any fines imposed by the KHDA. ADMISSION A completed application form does not translate into an automatic acceptance. Once you have been notified of your child’s placement decision and the registration and relevant term fees have been paid, a contract is deemed to exist between the school and the parents/guardians, provided that the school regulations are observed.
