Since 1982, GEMS Our Own English High School, Sharjah - Girls (OOS) has been delivering high-quality education to students from Kindergarten to Grade 12. Our campus, which is spread across seven acres of land, is complemented by world-class facilities and resources which opens gateways to high standards and academic excellence.
The school has a rich and diverse mix of students that promotes multi-cultural understanding and emphasizes both social and moral development.
Affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi, the school prepares students for the All India Secondary School Examination, conducted by the Board at Grade 10 and the All India Senior School Certificate Examination, conducted by the Board at Grade 12.
We have attained unprecedented heights in the field of education over the last few years and the immense strides made at every level has elevated this school into a new paradigm of quality, academic prowess and success.
There has been a steady growth in the number of enrollments each year. Today, with a strength of almost 6000 students, we are the largest school in Sharjah and the Northern Emirates. This is indicative of the trust and confidence that the parents have in the management and the teachers of the school.
The school continuously produces excellent results, both at the Secondary and Senior Secondary levels examinations conducted by the C.B.S.E, with many of our students earning top national positions in exam results.
Year after year, a large percentage of passing our students have secured admissions in a variety of prestigious institutions, both in India and abroad.
Our mission is to create a school that is characterized by:

· To inculcate the core values of GEMS; World Citizenship, Universal Values, Leadership Qualities & Forward Thinking in academic and co-curricular programmes.
The school strives to provide a stimulating environment so that each child’s energy is channelized in the right direction. Our students have been appreciated for their literary, artistic and athletic ability exhibited at various inter-school competitions, CBSE Nationals and other MOE events. I thank the incredible training and guidance given by our dedicated staff who not only teach the students the techniques but also instill the value of hard work, honesty, fair play, and team spirit.
In addition, our students have also been awarded the prestigious ‘Sheikh Hamdan Award’ and ‘Sharjah Excellence Award’ for outstanding academic achievements. The global presence of Our Own Girls can be measured by the number of students pursuing tertiary education at prestigious universities across the globe and making a niche for themselves.
Keeping in mind the challenges of the changing world, this year will be a year of setting and reaching attainable goals, working harder and smarter and taking our school and student achievement to the next level of “SUCCESS”. You can look forward to encountering a highly intensive and challenging academic program that will ensure all students become critical thinkers, active problem-solvers, inquisitive readers, diligent researchers and prolific writers. We do all of this to prepare our students for the demands of the real world so they may become productive citizens, become our future leaders, and contribute and/or give back something positive to the community.
