Abu Dhabi Department of Knowledge (ADEK) publishes biennial inspection reports of schools in Abu Dhabi to support the quality of education in the Emirate. ADEK’s comprehensive inspection and school improvement programme, Irtiqa’a, explains in detail the areas of strength and areas for improvement for each school.
Schools in Abu Dhabi are rated based on five performance standards
· Students’ achievement Performance Standard
· Students’ personal and social development and their innovation skills Performance Standard
· Teaching and Assessment Performance Standard
· Curriculum Performance Standard
· The Protection, care, guidance and support of students Performance Standard & Leadership management
Other key performance areas measured by the inspection reports include Arabic, Islamic Education, and Social Studies, among others.
How does ADEK rate schools in Abu Dhabi?
· Outstanding – the quality of performance substantially exceeds the expectation of the UAE
· Very Good – the quality of performance exceeds the expectation of the UAE
· Acceptable – the quality of performance meets the minimum expectation of the UAE
